First up thank you for all your wonderful comments Made me feel great and I know it did the same to Chris! He’s happy at AUT and loves the cool central city location of his campus!

Cant believe it- almost a month since I last posted. Time just speeds by at the moment. Scary scary how fast… But then maybe that’s good because I am thoroughly sick of winter, rain and rain storms. Bring it on Spring!
Am too busy working, very full on I am exhausted and soo tired. Maybe I could curl up and have a winter’s sleep like a bear ;p Still doing heaps of extra work – will I ever learn to say NO thanks? The sick coworker, still not back yet…
Another cold and thanks to this yucky non stop rain Chris’s sleep out and our storage area flooded… Wah as if I am not busy enough as it is.
But there were some highlights too.
We had a fantastic trip to see the Maori TV Studios. What a bunch of lovely people, superfriendly! It was amazing to see everything! They are open to visits from the public, check the website for details.

Oh the gorgeous kit from Paperpesto was such a joy to work with! A total highlight for me, loved the stamps, the papers, embellies, the lot! Too bad it’s already sold out.

Oh almost forgot, the last entry to ScrapTheTeenz – theme was Today you – I scrapped about a typical weekend day at work( New Worlds ) for Chris.

I hope to catch up with your blogs over the week. Miss not knowing what’s going on… But our internet is as turbulent as the rain at the moment… And I have to admit I used some rather foul language when the internet disappeared for the 10+ time in a row. That or I give up, for sanity’s sake ;p

Some LO’s from last month

Just a few LO’s from last month’s sneakies for Paperpesto.
Au naturel – barefoot at the beach, toes digging in the sand = Summer to me!

To love someone is to see a miracle invisible to others – just loved this quote (red sticker) So true! Journaling talks about what a miracle Rainer and I have and how much I love just watching him. Especially when he’s busy, love the way it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Yep I am dreaming of visiting Barcelona, Spain to see all the cool architecture and sculptures by Gaudi! One day!!!
Handcut butterflies from the 7Gypsies paper. I so want a cricuit or at least a cuttlebug ;p

This LO is about the different places I visited.

I used the inner circle that was left over from the Barcelona LO and turned it into a spinner. I cut a rectangular hole to show the writing below and attached a ribbon for ease of moving the spinner and to make the pages a little interactive. See below.

Bragalert!!!Time for me to brag big time!!! I am so so proud of Christopher!!!
For those that dont know, he forced our hand a few years ago when he decided not to stay at school. He was 16 1/2 when he left before even gaining university entry levels. He was too bored and unmotivated in school… We worked out that he could go to MIT (Manaukau Institute of Technology) and study computer stuff there. He started with a 1/2 year of Computer Foundation Course and just finished his 2 years and now has a Lvl 4 and Lvl 5 Diploma in Information and Communication Technology. Not bad at all for an 18 year old! I am so very proud and also quite relieved how things turned out for him.
But wait, there is more… Let me shout it from the rooftops… he’s applied to study at AUT ( Auckland University of Technology) towards a Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences Degree. And as he does not have university entrance, no NCEA Lvl 2 credits, nor is he 20 years old yet it was a bit of a wait and see if they would acknowledge his MIT work and credit him with enough points…
Whew the acceptance letter arrived last weekend and we are all so happy! Naturally I am totally proud of him. It’s amazing what Chris has achieved in the last few years, especially considering his age. So here I am with a big smile on my face, breast swelling with pride, completely enjoying my brag moment! Love you heaps and heaps Chris!

Oh yes it was also time for another Scrap the Teenz inspiration. This one was about teenz and pets. I had the perfect pictures from the end of last year when Tarryn got a puppy for her birthday. Chris is not really a ‘dog person’ but that does not matter to Cosmo. He simply adores Chris and it did not take long for Chris to fall for him either;p
I love these photos, they are so bright and full of fun!

A reminder of summer

Brrr cold, rain and stormy outside. The frontlawn is covered in broken off branches from the Kowhai tree. Winter. I am so not a winter person…
Perfect time for a little summer reminder. Had so much fun doing this mini album about Rainer and my lil’ summer trips for my DT stuff over at NZScrapbookShop . using the yummy BasicGrey Boxer range. I designed and cut our various shapes of cardboard by hand… I so need a quickcutz or something. ( Rainer, I hope you are reading this!) Distressed a lot as well as inking up with white for that washed up look. Rather like the way it all came together.

Made a acrylic page- cut our from a giftbox- for the back to keep it nice and tidy.

Sneakies

Oops another week just zoomed by! Another cold, what’s up with that? I thought not smoking is supposed to make you healthier…. I never had as many colds as this year.
Still – I am soooo proud of myself J, I survived my first party and drinks as a ‘non smoker’ a couple of weekends ago. Yeah I know…what a lame social life I have. One party in six months;p
And what’s going on with the internet in NZ? Our broadband is as fickle as a candle in the wind. Today I downloaded the same email 9 times!!! before the connections was up long enough to download the rest of emails. I had to write this post offline and then copy/paste it into wordpress. No catching up with blogs or surfing at the moment L
Makes me wonder if all those storms damaged something. I know all is supposed to be underground etc but it’s been so bad since the storms…LOL and me & Rainer are too pooped to ring up slingshot and listen to : All our lines are busy at the moment, please hold blabla for an hour or 2 ;p

Whine whine, can you tell I had a stressful day?;p Enough of that and onto the fun things.

I had an absolute blast creating with this month’s PaperPesto Kit called the “Passages of Time” Collection. This kit will go on sale July the 10th. Love that many of the papers are double-sided, especially good mileage from the gorgeous Theresa Collins Journaling papers. My absolute fav’s are the cool Heidi Swapp tapes , the date stamp, the wee mini alphas and and;p

Quick update – scrapcamp was just awesome!!! Fab job and my thanks to Lianne and Yolande! A lot of fun with Lee, the Kims, Andrea, Jackie, The Paperpesto Gals, Kelly, Lisa and too many names to mention them all. And woohoo I got to meet the lovely Shell and saw her awesome book about the backyard remodeling!!!

And woohoo it’s official now, PaperPesto has invited me and Ann to stay on as permanent Designteam Members until the end of the year! I am so chuffed about that!!! Just love their kits and the PaperPesto Gals are just such truely lovely ladies, I’m proud to be involved with them

Oh exciting news!!! My ‘What’s hot’ LO was picked for this months Kiwi Jack. How cool is that? Makes me feel very special! Thank you!

Loved working with the kit from NZ ScrapbookStore!! Yummy BasicGrey Boxer stuff!

What can I say? Too much work, too much sick, too much pain and too stupid to admit it to myself;p Well duh there was a reason (physically my knees) why I was working part time, so what surprise fulltime work is putting me in a ton of pain and coping with it is exhausting me completely… It’s just hard to admit it to myself how bad my knee’s got and how much it infringes on my life now. Since I was 15 years old, my knee has impacted on my life and overall I tried to make the impact a positive thing, a thing that was not limiting me but from which I could gain new lessons… And yes in many ways I have learned a lot of good stuff, made smart choices. But right now all I feel is pain, exhaustion, limits. Still hard to accept that my body is such a fragile thing, that managing my pain means I am tired a lot. This is very hard to admit to myself.
On top I had no news about my upcoming operation date and was starting to freak out… what if they forgot to put me on that waiting list. After all it was January when I saw them and it’s June now, and they said about 6 month waiting list. For weeks I was too chicken to call them up and find out, how silly am I? When I finally rung up the lady told me no set date yet but I’m on high priority and it should be before September – woohooo!!! Trust me I learned my lesson, I am gonna ring her every month now!
So that’s where I’m at. I needed some time out from the world to lick my wounds and come to grips with the above.

Scrap the teens

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! I sure am! Rainer took me out for lunch, woohoo no cooking tonite! Now the fire is going and the sofa is calling out to me to come plonk down to watch a movie with my huni. Sheer bliss after a hectic week! But first a quick update.

The Scrap the teenz theme this month is fears/dislikes. Check out the different takes on the theme here and a big Welcome to Adrienne – our latest addition to the contribution team- great to have ya on board!
My take was inspired by Chris strong dislike of tomatoes. Not sure I am happy with the way it turned out. Plus things like stitching and the silver letters didn’t scan very well. But I had fun going crazy with the sewing machine and have some ideas for future projects.

Oh and here are the sneakies revealed: Isn’t my Ronja just beautiful!

Love it when he brings me flowers, love the way my heart skips a beat when he gives me ‘that’ look.
Love I’m still so in love after 10+ years! Sometimes I cant stop gushing, it’s still a miracle, I found my soulmate, how lucky am I?!!!

More PaperPesto sneakies

Oops forgot I have some LO’s and more sneakies from the PaperPesto kit to share. This gorgeous kit goes a long way!
This one is about the best Loo’s in NZ *laughs* It’s true, the Kawakawa restrooms are a work of art designed by artist Hundertwasser. (Hunderwasser- a german name literally translates to hundred- water, that’s why the 100wasser on the LO )

Used my paints from the march kit for this LO and made a tree outline with embroidery.

and the sneakies…

I seem quite obsessed with embroidering on LO’s at the moment;p

and some more cutting out and underlaying dark cardstock..

love this yummy yellow… now that’s a new one, never figured me for a yellow person!

Yes it’s woo hoot Wednesday for Janine but Woohooo… or woohooohooo is also a word that I first saw when Rainer wrote to me. It’s his ultimate expression of supercool or big joy! So seeing woohoot always remindsme of Rainer, sweet!
woohoo- for once the internet is there! ( been having some? or rather quite a lot of issues with the internet this week. Gawds I start disliking that icky orange light on the router that mean we are disconnected yet again;p)
woohoo – it’s almost Friday! I love weekends!
woohoo – it’s been a good week and I just feel good, not desperatetly hanging out for Friday like some weeks;p
woohoo – I got a lot of paperwork done at work, more than I anticipated! Now usually it’s the opposite so that’s a big woohoohoo.
woohoo – not long to go until scrap camp!!!
